Gran sortida de Pedro Acosta, però quasi es toquen amb Arón Canet i ha perdut diverses posicions, consolidant-se setè. Somkiat Chantra primer, seguit per Jake Dixon i Alonso López. Aquest últim arrossegava una penalització de doble volta llarga. A 17 voltes del final, mentre Acosta ja és cinquè per davant de Sam Lowes, el pilot local Ai Ogura es col·loca segon. Chantra marca el rècord en cursa del circuit, i ja és a 2 segons d’Ogura. Quan encara quedaven 15 girs, Acosta ja és tercer, amb els dos pilots asiàtics per davant. La penalització ha deixat a López desè.

A 10 voltes pel final, Sergio García Dols ha caigut. A falta de sis girs, Ogura li ha retallat un segon a Chantra, però continua estant molt lluny; a 1.6 segons. Poca emoció a la cursa. Tony Arbolino és dotzè, allargant un GP més la seva mala dinàmica. Finalment, no hi ha hagut més moviments en les tres primeres posicions, mantenint més o menys les mateixes distàncies tota l’estona. Resultat històric per l’Honda Team Asia en el GP de casa, amb Somkiat Chantra primer i el local Ai Ogura segon. Amb la tercera plaça d’Acosta, el murcià s’allunya a 50 punts d’Arbolino, sent encara més líder i demostrant el seu domini aclaparador a la categoria. Albert Arenas ha acabat 18è, fent evident que encara no està en plenitud física després de la lesió a l’espatlla esquerra que va patir a Misano.
